Understanding Keratoconus
Keratoconus is a progressive eye condition in which the cornea gradually thins and bulges outward into a cone-like shape — causing distorted vision, increasing myopia and irregular astigmatism. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to preserving vision.
C3R / Corneal Cross-Linking
Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) drops combined with UV-A light create new bonds between corneal collagen fibres — strengthening the cornea. C3R is effective at halting keratoconus progression in suitable candidates.
Intacs Corneal Ring Segments
Thin, biocompatible ring segments inserted into the cornea to flatten the cone, reduce irregular astigmatism and aid vision — often performed alongside C3R.
